More About This Ride

Minimum height restriction:   48 in.

Structure:
310' tall first hill sloped at 45-degrees on the ascent and 80-degrees on the descent.

Three over-banked curving-hills, the tallest at a height of 169'.

Third hill is 182' high.

Features:
Two tunnels.

Elevator cable-lift system originally utilizing an 800-horsepower DC electric motor with speeds of up to 13 mph. After blowing out the original motor, a larger motor is now used. Data is not available for this motor.

History:
Tagline: "The Future is Riding On It."

During 2006, Millennium Force had significant downtime due to electrical issues. The problems started when the original motor blew out. The same motor was not available so a larger motor was put in place. This caused many errors including an encoder discrepancy error that resulted in significant downtime. Other problems developed including lack of weather protection for the new motor. The new motor blew out after a short service time. The problems that caused this were eventually fixed and a new, larger, more protective housing was used, as well as other changes that improve reliability.

While Millennium Force's 300' first drop certainly ranks near the top on my list of great drops, the rest of the ride is subpar at best. Cedar Point has found a way to cut out the airtime on the third hill and the parallel hill next to it. The train just seems to crawl over those hills. I need more than a good sense of speed to have an excellent ride. There are a few hypers that I'd take over MF any day.

There is no question about it; Millennium Force is one of the best roller coasters in the world. Very few rides come close to beating the sheer excitement caused by its 300 foot first drop.

Thr Millennium Force is awesome. While I gave almost 3 hours in wait time, I got back probably the best minute of my life. If I were to rate it out of ten, I'd give it a 10. The wind just completely knocked against my face, kind of like a ping-pong ball & a wall. It was awesome!

I loved Millennium Force, I hate how everyone allways complains about how Millennium Force has no airtime. Who cares! It has speed, one thing a few hypers/gigas DON'T have. I mean, what other coaster finishes the ride at 65 MPH?

I thought the layout was decent, the drop was thrilling, and everything else was great. My number 1 coaster!

I have been to Cedar Point since I was five and I am sure that Millennium Force is the most amazing roller coaster I have ever been on! The first hill is amazing! Even though in actuality the hill is only about two seconds long, it feels like even longer! If you're in the back, you get amazing airtime throughout the whole ride! This is the number one roller coaster of all time!

Oh man, a really great ride! The front seat offers a great view, while the back offers an intense ride. Make a trip to CP and ride the Force! You will not be dissapointed!

This is easily the best ride ever! try and get a free way pass for this ride and then get in line front row so you wont have to wait so long but the waiting a little longer for the front is soo worth it. its the best ever!

Not Millennium Force. It is only 45. As for no airtime, everyone is right. Mad props to Werner Stengel for givving the illusion of increadible forces while not actually applying them. a marvel of coaster engineering

The drop is great and the rest of the ride is enjoyable just because of the speed.

I thought Millennium Force was just an "okay" ride. Magnum XL-200 was more exciting to me. The first drop was amazing, but the rest of the ride lacked personality. The coaster was incredibly fast and kept its speed for most of the ride, but I didn't come off bewildered or estatic about it.

I got the most air I have had in my entire life on MF's first hill this summer. I don't know what it was, maybe it was running faster that day or something but it was awesome.

Millennium Force has the best first drop of any other coaster. A must ride in the front seat, but a bit of a tip, avoid ride in the front seat at night the bugs can get to hurt.

To date sitting in the front seat of MF is the best thing in the world..... Until the first drop is over. Then the ride is 100% crap.

OMG..... the first drop and the turn around scared the crap out of me. This coaster is my number 2 behind Superman (SFNE) Had to wait like 45 minutes, but as anyone can tell, it is worth the wait and then some. The coolest ride at CP!!!!!!
