More About This Ride
Features:
A behind the scenes tour divided into two segments: a Special Effects Water Tank show where volunteers are selected to be part of the action sequence "Harbor Attack", and a tram tour of the studios backlot area, where guests can see various cars and props from movies, the studios' costuming department, and Catastrophe Canyon - where the tram is caught in the filming of a disaster.

History:
One of the original attractions to open with the Disney-MGM Studios. The tram portion was originally it's own attraction, while the Special Effects Water Tank was originally part of the two hour Backstage Pass walking tour. The walking tour has since been removed to make room for new attractions, and the tram route has been significantly shortened as modifications to the park's backstage areas have been made. The much beloved "Residential Street", in which the tram drives down a street lined with the facades of houses from ABC TV shows, was removed to make room for the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show.

Really didnt see anything other than the outside of Disney Buildings and recreations of movie sets. If you want to see movies being made...You need to go to Hollywood.

^^The Backlot Tour has been changed a LOT since they added the LMA Stunt Show. The first time I went to MGM Studios in 2000, this was a really good tour. You saw TV show sets and houses. But its been eliminated in recent years to make room for the stunt show. Pretty much the Backlot Tour doesn't live up to its name at all anymore.
