The Comet is such a great coaster. It so legendary and has a story behind it that can't be matched by other roller coasters. Thank god for the comet tho, it is the best ride at the Great Escape.

I have rode the Comet since it was originally at Crystal Beach (in Canada). Even my 75 year old mom rode it back in the 40s. She even saved an article in the Niagara Falls Gazette (from I believe the 1940s) on the reconstruction of it when it was originally the Cyclone. It featured a pic of the comet in the midst of reconstruction. Also, one of my old high school teachers did a video documentary about this coaster and is (or was?) a member of ACE.

One interesting note about this coaster is when GE acquired it, most of the structure was replaced due to wear and age, but it was rebuilt so much better that it is claimed to be even safer than when it was originally rebuilt. You can tell this is a quality coaster.

This is a very fun coaster. I rode it 14 times in one day when i went there. Too bad the park isnt as good as the ride.
