History:
Past name(s): California Screamin' (2/2001 - 12/2006); Rockin' California Screamin' (1/2007 - 4/2007)

In late July of 2005, one of the coaster's trains slid by a block zone and collided with another (stopped) train. Investigators later concluded after a through investigation that the collission was caused by air leaks in the ride's braking system. 15 riders were treated by medical personnel for neck/back injuries. The ride remained closed after the incident for inspection, state investigation, and testing prior to reopening. The ride resumed operations on Friday October 14, 2005.

A great ride, with a terrific initial launch and a very smooth ride that allows you to focus more on the thrill of the ride than the thought of bracing yourself for a rough turn. The second lift was a nice touch. The magnetic drive is set to push the ride vehicle up the second lift hill at the pace that a chain lift would. It gives the old nostalgic feel of a wooden coaster with the smoothness of a steel coaster.

A must ride. Fast pass is highly recomended. Its a bummer that they tell you were in the car to sit though. Ir you sit in the front seat, prepare to get sprayed with water before the launch!

I agree, I want to choose what row I sit in, but nonetheless, it makes the line neater, and easier to handle, and you might as well get a fastpass and not wait at all. spend the little time watiing for maliboomer or something else.

Awsome ride! Been on more than 20 times! Use the single rider line, it gets you through the line. If your in the normal line, ask for the front row!

Where's the single riders line?

Anyways, I haven't been to DCA for a few years. Last time I went was before the accident on Cali. Screamin' so I don't know how different it is w/ the new brakes. I hope not too bad. I might be going to both parks again in a few weeks.

The single rider line is if you were looking at the entrance, take a left and there's a sign that says exit, go in there and take a right.

This ride was so long and yet so perfectly paced. Disney continues its reputation for high entertainment values with a great LIM launch at the outset. The ride is smooth as glass and yet still manages to simulate a wooden coaster very well. All in all, a great coaster.

A great smooth steel launching looper. The soundtrack is fantastically synced with the ride. And the feux woodie style is perfectly done.
