More About This Ride
Structure:
Originally had a 90 degree angle lift hill, but was converted to a traditional 45 degree lift hill after it was moved to Six Flags AstroWorld.

In 2004, the entire structure was repainted Lime Green and Navy Blue.

Features:
3 Heartline Inversions; One forwards, two backwards.

History:
Opened in 1986 at Six Flags Great Adventure, Ultra Twister was the first and only TOGO pipeline coaster in the North America. Unique with it's vertical lift and first drop, it was the only true heartline coaster design. The ride only lasted 2 seasons at Great Adventure due to its low capacity and numerous difficulties evacuating riders from the vertical lift in the event of a breakdown. When it was moved to Six Flags Astroworld in 1989, it was redesigned with a more traditional 45 degree angle lift, which was much easier to maintain and evacuate from.

One of the most unique coaster there is...fabulously fun, great first drop and my favorite ride at Astroworld, by far.
