A great old wooden roller coaster with a compact figure 8 design. Make sure you ride this one before exiting the park.

Thunerbolt is a very fun wood coaster with a lot of airtime. the only bad thing about this coaster is the seatbelts are to short...

Great old ride with some nice airtime. Always reserve enough time for at least one ride on this coaster.

Good wooden coaster, some sweet air spots in the back. I got an unexpected jolt of ejector sitting there on the drop right after the 3rd turn (counting the one before the main drop). Not too smooth, not too rough. Overall a good ride, especially if you're convincing someone that roller coasters are fun. I rode this with my friend woho disliked coasters and the same day we rode Superman.

Thunderbolt is the oldest of SFNE's coasters and it's actually one of their better ones. This is a perfect example of how a coaster small on size can be big on fun. Thunderbolt just is an enjoyable ride.

First off, I must say that I love the ride's location in the center of the park. There's just something majestic about a classic wooden coaster in the center of a park. Also, I'm in love with the vertical neon sign that is a true gem and a rarity. The coaster itself however looks badly in need of a new paint job in the next few years.

Unfortunately Thunderbolt utilizes a one train operation. If two trains were run this almost always would be a walk-on. Instead it's usually a 10-20 minute wait, which is certainly worth the wait. Due to the small station, you can't wait for a particular seat, so you just have to get lucky if you get the seat you want.

The ride may be small, but as I've stated before, it's just a fun ride. The whole layout is a figure eight with a few notable drops such as the first one which actually gives some air in the back and the rare double down is really fun and cool. But my favorite element is that last bunny hill. It looked so innocent and weak, but boy that gave some serious ejector hill like a hill on the Phoenix!

Well, the Thunderbolt isn't as good as the Cyclone in my opinion, but it's still a decent ride. The whole ride is very smooth and there is some decent air, highlighted by that last bunny hill I mentioned. Classic woodies are always a treat and this one is no exception.

Rating: 6 out of 10
Favorite Seat: Front (1:1)
