I went to Six Flags America three days ago and I must say Superman: Ride of Steel is simply AMAZING! The first hill feels like you are going STRAIGHT DOWN! But I put my hands up anyway and it felt FANTASTIC! But the impact on the helix's made me feel a little bit woozy. But anyway, Superman is an awesome roller coaster! I loved it!

SROS at SFA is the worst of the '3' SFNEs and SFDLs are much better

It's in a middle of a field, but that doesn't ruin the awesome expirence of it. It may be the worst of the three superman's, bt it's still a great hyper. One of the ebst first drops around. Plenty of air on it.

I got the chance to go to DC summer '06 and we took a trip to BGE and SFA, sadly, we skipped PKD.
But this isn't a trip report, its a review.

So right away, I have to say, S:RoS is a fun ride, but definitely not the best coaster I've ridden, or one of the best coasters I've ridden. I mean I loved the speed and *ejector* air, but if you've ever ridden it or at least watched a POV of it, you would know that the straightways KILL IT.
At one point theres a straightway, *ejector* hill, then another straightway.
They could've EASILY moved the hill and added a second hill right there!

I would give this ride a 6 or 7 out of ten, Just because of the boring straightways.

S:ROS is decent, tied with Roar for the best ride at SFA, imo. It gets awesome ejector airtime on the second airtime hill, but the huge helixes and straightaways just kill the ride. It also has one area of visible bad trackwork (on the banked hill going towards the last two airtime hills) which causes the train to shake violently for a second. 7/10
