I don't get this ride. They say its the first coaster to break the 200ft barrier on the east coast. But that's all this ride has going for it. Free fall is always cool, but with roller casters, for me, drops are just to gain speed. You have to do something with that speed after the drop. Steel force goes up and down a few very tall hills in a straight line before turning around and going up and down smaller hills in a straight line along side the first run. Even wooden coasters, that can't do most of the wild loops and corkscrew moves, have far better use of their speed. And this is a 7 year old, 10 million dollar steel coaster. I thought it was weak when I first tried it and I feel the same today. If you want a huge drop, try a straight free-fall ride like the Dominator. I get more fun out of the ThunderHawk, Dorney's oldest coaster (wooden, 1923, 80ft tall, 45mph max) than this one.

I agree. It is the same with Titan and Goliath. Both have awesome height and speed, just to be lost to the block brakes halfway through the ride.

Sweet ride. I love it. It is great. So don't be dissing it. It's a great ride, and I do not know why people diss it so much.

A fun hyper but certainly not among the best. It just doesnt compare to the great B&M trains or the Intamin air (before the new restraints), but still the second best in the park (Talon beats it, and Hydra is coming up..). 4/5

I don't know how it gets great reviews, it's kind of boring and the restraints aren't great.

I absolutely LOVE this ride. I ride it all day when I go to Dorney Park! Sure, it's only hills, but I don't know...there's something about it that just makes me happy and makes me want to ride it over and over.

Not much air, but it's still a really fun ride. You can't ride it and then rate it along with say...Superman Ride of Steel at Six Flags New England.

Hypercoaster that isn't that well...... hyper. I was severely disappointed with this coaster. Hypers are known for airtime, which this coaster does not have. Even the drop feels like a long descend. When I rode this for a second time there was this teenage girl in front of me talking on her cell phone DURING the ride. Not once did her voice change, nor did she stop talking altogether. She basically carried a full conversation while riding this coaster. Doesnt say much about the ride. Sure if you want to keep your coaster count up, ride this ride. But during busy summer seasons, I say the ride is not worth the wait in line. Once again Pennsylvania natives want to hype this coaster up, but Im sorry it does not fit the billing. By far the most boring hyper coaster Ive ever been on before.

^I think your crazy. No offense. Either that or your really biased. Steel Force is amazing, along with pretty much every other hyper out there.

Dpgadvfan, I'm one person that is far from biased with roller coasters. I simply call it like I see it and Steel Force is not a ride to brag about. If you think otherwise, ride MF, S:ROS, Titan, Goliath, Nitro, or Apollo's Chariot and then tell me this is a wonderful coaster. Granted, sure ride it because it is a smooth ride, but it is not an exciting one. Feels like there is trim brakes all along it, including the drop. By comparison I have seen a lot better. Talon is a much more fun ride to go on in this park, because Steel Force is not impressive at all.

Trim brakes? There are none at all. (unless you consider the block brakes to be considered a trim.) Sure its not the best ride, but it is awesome nonetheless. It doesn't compare to a coaster like Millennium or Phantom's revenge, but it is still an amazing ride considering the competition in the area, i.e Nitro.

I have never been on a hypercoaster that was so uneventful like this. For a coaster that goes hits 75 and over 200 feet, it's so boring. Their is next to no air on this ride at all. It's fun to just go on and relax, but don't expect much out of this ride. I do like the trains though, and it's smoothness.

I love this ride! The return run has some really nice air. I agree about the layout though.

I've heard a lot of hype about this ride before, and I rode it this summer for the first time. I was so disapointed. The Mamba at Worlds of Fun is WAAAAY better and Steel Force gets all the attention. It was very dirty, had extremely faded paint, and just looked very unkept. That being my first impression, the entire experience was just disapointing to me. The look, the actual ride, the whole experience. Maybe with no trims on the midcourse it could be a better ride, but Mamba SO rules over this thing. At least it did when it first opened. Thr first drop felt week, the Helix was just drawn out, and there was only one bunny hill that delivered air, and that was just because of the drop on it. Perhaps I am just used to wilder rides now and this was worth the fuss when it was new. Perhaps if I did not have such high expectations from everyone saying it is better than Mamba I would have enjoyed it, but I really expected more. I'd have to say if I was forced to chose one coaster to skip at that park, this woudl be it. Thunderhawk, and Laser are my favs there.

It was ok... The final return was fun with some airtime but from the drop to the helix it wasn't that fun. It wasn't as smooth as a hyper should be IMO, it had bumps on every transition on the airtime hills. IMO, it's like a better built Magnum, but still nothing spectacular.

This is a very good ride. It does not measure up to its B&M counterparts, but remember this was built in 10 years ago in 1997. It is not as good as magnum. This ride is also very tempermental. On some days it is absolutely amazing with airtime on everything, literally. Other days it barely makes it through the course.

Its a good ride...but I gotta say, that if my mom can ride it (and she does)...it isnt that intense. It is fun nonetheless.
