The only reason i give this four stars is because of S:ROS. The park had over half a dozen rides closed simply due to un employment when I last went there. Also, Other than Tornado, Ihaven't seen something new in 6 years. I label this as the forgotten Six Flags park. This place really needs something new, like a new coaster, I don't care if they take out Viper to do so. It is unbelievably painful. Six Flags really needs to do something about this park.

Wow.. The park is small.. but has a nice setting.. And ok rides.. But it just seems to suck really bad.
I went in 1999 when it just became Six Flags.. Then I went in 2005..... All thats new is a Topspin and Slingshot.....

This one to me is right up there with the Great Escape (aka The Great Mistake) in terms of WASTE. Admission too high, food and other items in park too overpriced, serious thrill rides too few, overall park is TOO BORING.

I tend to visit Darien Lake in May or October. There are no crowds, but Mind Eraser and Predator have been closed for my last two visits.

Check the web site before visiting, especially if you are Canadian. SF Darien Lake often has seriously discounted admission.

Tanks4me05, SFDL will never take out Viper. The Viper is the first roller coaster to turn riders upside down 5 times. And I love that coaster. It always runs 2 trains. SROS sometimes runs 1 train with a huge queue, Predator runs one train most of the time, Mind Eraser sometimes operates 1 train with a big queue line. Boomerang Coast To Coaster, it's ok, but it does make me dizzy on the backward trip. The Viper's line is a walk on. Viper's crew is so fast that you will be on the ride in under 2 minutes, since Superman get's the attention.

I haven't been to this park in many years but it still holds special memories for me. The Viper was my first coaster and from then on the addiction has grown.

This isn't a bad park, but it's not that great, either. They would seriously benefit from the addition of any major ride, even if it wasn't a roller coaster.

My home park. I love it, sentimentally of course. There is a lot of room for improvement, though. Superman: Ride of Steel of course is the main attraction, and deservedly so. Viper and Boomerang are both good, smooth rides, especially for being what they are.

Mind Eraser and Predator....well these rides are bad, and very painful. Mind Eraser will pound on your head the whole ride though, but at least it's intense. Predator is just a horrible coaster in all aspects. Completely painful and not even fun in any way.

For flats, Twister and Ranger remain the top two for me, but both seem to have large amounts of down time.

Is it true that this park is going out of business unless it sells to another company?
