Rye Playland is cool. But for a day of fun.. Its a lot of money.. Its $35.00 for a 6 hour ride pass. But the lines were short and they have a lot of rides.. So its ok.

Great especially during PLJ night when it's all free.
I can even "ride" the cheap mirror thing!

I like the atmosphere of this park on Long Island Sound. The Dragon has great length and the very cool dragon head. The Derby Racers are a must ride cause they only exist with Cedar Point's and another park. Super Flight is the top billed modern inversion ride. I wish the chest pad wasn't so hard on me! Makes me uncomfortable.

^ The third Derby Racer would be at Blackpool... And its right next to Valhalla and Nash. I wish I had rode it in 2006 so I could have been on all 3.. Oh well.

Best Ride: SuperFlight

Rye Playland is a good family park near New York City. Best New York park I've been to so far thanks to the classic rides that are mixed with modern rides.

Coasters- Dragon Coaster (5 out of 10) is the park's old and very well maintained classic. The layout is cool and the tunnel is excellent, but the ride just is pretty tame and lacking air. SuperFlight (7 out of 10) is the park's best ride and I actually liked this flying coaster. The inversions were cool and I found it smooth! Other than those two are an intense Crazy Mouse and two kiddie coasters (one adults can't ride :( ).

Flat Rides- Playland has tons of flats and some very good ones for sure. The best flat is the Double Shot tower. Not as good as Canobie's, but it has some good air at the top. Wipeout is also very fun as well. The park also has some great old classics like the Whip and Derby Racer. Too bad the park removed Power Surge and Mind Scrambler since they were two of the park's best flats.

Water Rides- Pretty good. Playland's flume is one of the best out there thanks to its steep drops and they also have the Playland Plunge, a unique shoot the chute, which is excellent on a hot summer day.

Dark Rides- Playland has some great attractions in this category. The Ye Old Mill definitely is the best thanks to its unique elements such as the storm tunnels and just really is a cool ride. Flying Witch is also pretty good for a carnival-type dark ride and has some unique gags. I didn't like Zombie Castle though.

Food- It was expensive so I didn't get any.

Atmosphere- Playland really is a cool park and it really is a family park. From the classic rides to the modern ones, Playland really is a great park worth visiting if you're at all nearby.
