I’ve been to this park a few times. The first three or four times I went I wasn’t too impressed with it. One of the times I went Hypersonic was down. After that I didn’t hold this park in high regard. That all changed when I went to the ACE coaster con in 2003. In my opinion this was by far the nicest a park has ever treated a group of coaster enthusiast (and seeing how CP treats enthusiast it’s hard to be better). I was very impressed that they hired a band to play for us before ERT. They out did BGW which spent half of the ERT for LNM doing some publicity stuff and only letting the top ACE members ride.
If anyone from PKD is reading this I want to say way to go! I definitely like your park and I hope you would host an annual coaster event! I know I would go.

Thos theme park is a fair distance away from my house. It takes about an hour and a half to get there, and I can't drive yet so I must get my parents to drive me, but when I get there I have the time of my life.

This is my second favorite park of all time (behind CP of course). Their collection of rides is amazing, especially for people who like acceleration. *drool*

Well i lve about 5 hours away but come here for a week i August. We stay at the Best Western in the parking lot. I love this park, and will continue to come back every year. Especially after riding Hypersonic. I wanted to ride it again and again.

Good roller coasters and clean but it isnt what you call a good themed park once you get past main entrance area in the front. Overall a good park though.

I can't deciede if I liked this park or not. It was clean and had a lot of trees, and the wooden coasters are kept up nicely. But, I didn't feel a lot of atmosphere. I defenitly liked BGE more, but I guess this is a nice park.

Nice coaster park, though nighttime lighting left something to be desired. Looks a little shabby at night. I do love their water park.

In my opinion, this is the best amusement park in the MD/VA/DC area, beating out Busch Gardens & SOFA...

Shock waver was cool for it's time, but once stand up B&M's began showing up, it kind of faded away...

It was an ok park. It was generally ok. Many of the coasters were dissapointing and rough. The water park was not that big. But it was still fun. Not a bad park but not necessarily a really good one either.

I went to Kings Dominion for the first time in 2003 and don't really remember much about it. I went again in April of this year (2007), and wasn't very impressed. To me, they had a large collection of mediocre coasters. Volcano and Flight of Fear are my two favorites there, but both have their flaws, Volcano is too short IMO (though it has great heartline rolls), and Flight of Fear is too slow until the end. The staff wasn't the best, but it was an off day so I can't really say how they are on a busy day. Basically, it looks as though under Paramount, KD received mostly second tier rides, and way too many launches. Even with only 5 coasters, and basically nothing else, BGE is a much better park IMO. 6/10.

I have been going to this park since I was in a stroller. This was my favorite park until paramount took it over. When they moved in, they took away that true "KD" feeling and atmosphere. They do have some great roller coasters but if you have little ones, the kiddie park sucks since Nick took over.

Best Ride: Volcano
Kings Dominion is my second favorite park behind SFNE. Kings Dominion has a great coaster collection, a good flat collection, and some nice water rides. Not only that, the park just has something for everyone.
Coasters- Volcano (10 out of 10) is the park's best coaster and my favorite inverted coaster I've been on. The launch is the most intense I've experienced and all of the inversions are well executed and were very exciting for me. The park also has a great collection of woodies in the Hurler (9 out of 10, great air and a smooth ride), Grizzly (8 out of 10, very cool layout with some air and an incredible tunnel), Rebel Yell (6 out of 10, rough but good air), and Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster (fun junior wooden coaster). Backlot Stunt Coaster (7 out of 10) is a very fun family coaster with some neat elements. Anaconda (6 out of 10) is a decent Arrow and Shockwave (8 out of 10) is a surprisingly smooth stand-up. Not to mention that they also are home to my favorite bobsled and wild mouse, they also have added Dominator. Sadly, Flight of Fear was closed during my visit.
Flat Rides- Decent. While I didn't ride Drop Zone, it looks insane and like it would be the park's best flat. The park also has a top spin, scrambler, swings, a looping inverter ship, and some other spinning rides. They have plenty but I didn't have much time while there to experience them.
Water Rides- Shenandoah Log Flume is a very good flume through with 2 good drops, not to mention that I also got quite wet. They also have a river rapids ride that I heard was good, but it had too long of a wait while I was there.
Dark Rides- Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion is a really good shooting dark ride that is just a notch below Buzz for my favorite. I had been told it was very short, but it was the exact opposite. Treasure Cave is a cool walkthrough that's worth checking out as well.
Food- I honestly forget if I got anything and if it was any good.
Atmosphere- I had mixed feelings. The front of the park, Old Virginia section, and kiddieland were very well themed and had a great atmosphere. The back area of the park just really lacked much theming and seemed like more of a concrete jungle.
Also of note, the Eiffel Tower is a must while there thanks to the incredible views it provides of the park.
I skipped their water park, but it looked pretty big.
