More About This Park
History:
Construction began in June 1979 when William Davis, then Premier of Ontario, pushed a plunger in downtown Toronto touching off the first blast at Canada's Wonderland in Vaughan. The peak construction period occurred in 1980 with 700 tradespeople, 12 architectural and engineering firms and 40 inspectors working on the enterprise.

Opening Day - May 23, 1981
William Davis and Dudley Taft, President of Taft Broadcasting Co., were among the notables attending an elaborate opening ceremony for Canada's first national theme park. The ceremony included 10,000 helium balloons, 13 parachutists, 350 white doves, a pipe band and 4 children representing the Arctic, Pacific, Atlantic, and Great Lakes regions of Canada.

The 300 plus acre site in Vaughan, Ontario was selected for its proximity to Toronto. The area's large population base and easy accessibility, particularly via Highways 401 and 400, were two other factors determining this site.

Notes:
Canada's Wonderland is Canada's premier theme park, featuring nine themed areas and more than 200 attractions including over 65 rides. The park hosts more than 3 million guests annually and employs over 4,000 seasonal employees and 160 year-round employees.

I live in Toronto and I come to PCW every summer 9 w/ seasons pass and it is amazing. has some of the best flats out of all theme parks and has somewhere around 10 great coasters. All in all, 4 out of 5!

PCW is a nice park with a good variety of roller coasters and very nice selection of flat rides throughout the park.

I would avoid visiting the park on weekends during the summer, unless you like huge crowds.

This park thinks of ways to rip off guests. For example: Season Pass holders get early ride times, and when I came to the park early, the security guard said that early ride times are on Thursday, and Friday, which have big crowds. Also, the food is expensive. A Pizza Pizza pepperoni slice alone costs $4.27. The drinks cost $2.75, when they are supposed to cost around $1.00. I always bring pop into the park. And since pop cans aren't allowed in the park, I always smuggle coke into the park in plastic bottles. The next time I wear jeans to the park, I will try to smuggle a pop can into the park by hiding it in my socks. The socks will be long. The only reason I go to this park is the rides. Also, some sections of the park are busier than the others. Grande World Expo of 1890 is much busier and has longer lines than Medieval Faire.

I went to MarineLand on August 7th/05, and I actually had a better time there than during all of my Wonderland visits. At MarineLand, there are no long waits in line. I only waited 7 minutes to ride Sky Screamer, and the reason for the 7 minute wait is because only one of the towers was working. If all of them were working, it would be a 1 minute wait. Still, Sky Screamer is worth a 7 minute wait. Dragon Mountain is the best steel roller coaster in Canada, and the wait for it is around 5 to 10 minutes. 5 minutes if 2 trains are running, and 10 minutes if 1 train is running. So, all of you who hate MarineLand, you could have 20 to 30 rides in 1 day on both Sky Screamer and Dragon Mountain! And the parking at MarineLand is FREE! $7.50 for parking at Wonderland? What a ripoff. Also, for the guys who are over 6 feet, the restrains on Sky Screamer are comfortable. I am 6.2 feet tall, and I felt comfortable riding Sky Screamer. At Wonderland, the Drop Zone restrains were killing my shoulders. Go to MarineLand, not Wonderland. Big Amusement Parks like Wonderland just think of ways to make a guest's experience as worse as possible. MarineLand offered me the best amusement park visit ever! And the Shows at MarineLand are cool too. One of them cracked me up! MarineLand is a better choice than Wonderland! Enjoy your day at MarineLand, the park with Canada's best steel roller coaster!

This park is ok, but it's full of painful and cloned coasters. Still, a good park to visit if you want extra coaster credits.

PCW was ok. I only really liked Vortex as far as the coasters went...

Behemoth is the only reason I really want to go to this park. No matter what I would still go 15+ times a season, but after the addition of Behemoth, it just makes the suckiness of everything else stand out more. Such a nice park though, the atmosphere and scenery here is really, really nice...Although the staff can (sometimes) not be the friendliest people ever, and the prices are INSANE.
