Slightly over rated by Pittsburg natives, but what hometown park isn't? Kennywood remains a staple of the industry, a perennial favorite. Its collection of woodies is rivaled by few other parks. Like CP, SFMM, and a few other elite parks, I think Kennywood is one of those parks you have to visit before you can truly call yourself a veteran.

Kennywood was a very peaceful park. I absolutely loved it. The park may be small with just a few rides, but it's still really good.

Kennywood is the best Traditional Amusement Park in the world and is a National Historic Landmark. The Racer is a mobious racer, it's not a duelling coaster.

I like Kennywood. It was a great park, but I was just expecting a little more. I gotta give it cred though, it is the only park to date that I have gotten my dad to ride a drop tower.

I love Kennywood. When you live here, you take your kids every year, schools have field trips there, bands and dance troupes perform or parade there. It's a classic.

This was an awesome park. Phantom's Revenge was amazing, and it is the best Hyper. The classic wooden coasters are awesome, especially the Jack Rabbit which only has seatbelts and handlebars. It is a beautiful park. I like it alot. It is like a mix of Knoebel's and Dorney. It is a nice park.

Great park for being about 20 minutes away from where I live. There are better (i.e. it isnt nearly as good as Cedar Point) but I still love it.

Kennywood is my favorite park ever. I'd chose it over Disney world anyday!

Such a nice park... I just wish they had more classic flats rather than all the updated ones.

Trip Report: 7/9/07

After a 4 hour drive, plus an extra hour for a lunch stop, making it 5 hours, and getting lost quite a few times, we got to the park at 3:00. As soon as we got there, we were ready to go on Phantom's Revenge. We couldn't find the entrance! We stopped at Pitt Fall, and I decided to sit this one out, because I like my feet, lol. I wasn't ready to ride a 2nd generation Intamin drop tower, not even two weeks after the accident. After this, we found Phantom's Revenge. Wow, short line. WRONG. One train, took 25 minutes to get on the back row from just outside the station.

Phantom's Revenge - I was expecting this ride to be amazing, from what I have heard. The second drop looked insane. The ride turned out to be not that great, and I was wondering why I heard so amazing about this ride. It was still actually pretty good, but I was expecting more, but there was barely any airtime. 8/10

After this I got a quick drink, and we headed over to Thunderbolt, for a 5 minute wait.

Thunderbolt - This ride turned out to be really fun, and was quite good for a ride that small. 8/10

After this, we played some games, and went over to the Exterminator. It was a 20 minute wait.

Exterminator - Really fun mouse ride, and it had great theming. Only downside was, it hurt like crazy. 7/10

After this, we went over to Racer, and it was walk on.

Racer - Great ride, racing makes it really fun. It lacked a wow factor though. 7/10

We got dinner, and I got nachos. I wasn't really hungry, so I didn't eat much. We headed over to Jack Rabbit next for a walk-on.

Jack Rabbit - I entered the station thinking, "Wow, what a kiddie ride." There's no seatbelt at all, with just a lapbar way above you. I was basically standing up the whole time, with that INSANE airtime. It needs to be a little longer, and it would get a great rating. 8/10

We then headed over to Gold Rusher, for a walk on.

Gold Rusher - BORING. It was a little kiddie ride. 2/10

Next, we went on Pittsburg Plunge.

Pittsburg Plunge - Great ride, and since we were already wet. We decided to go on again, since there was nobody waiting. 7/10

We went on a total of 3 times, before more people showed up to go on. Oh well...

We looked at Phantom's Revenge's line and it would probably be another half hour wait and I was the only one who was willing to wait that again, so we skipped it.

We took another ride on Exterminator and went to Raging Rapids.

Raging Rapids - GREAT rapids ride, and we ended up going on 3 times. 8/10

We took another ride on Thunderbolt and then went to Log Jammer.

Log Jammer - I preferred Pittsburg Plunge much more over this, and you barely got wet on this. 5/10

It was getting late, so we decided to go on Racer once again, and then headed to Aero 360.

Aero 360 - Really fun ride, and going upside down on this was exciting. 8/10

We went on Aero 360 again, and left the park at 10. Kennywood has a great assortment of flats and woodies, and I would probably come back another time. We headed to the hotel, and got some sleep before Kings Island the next day.
